TH Heavy Engineering Berhad

 

TH Heavy Engineering Berhad (“TH Heavy”) was incorporated on 18 November 2003, formerly known as Ramunia Holdings Berhad, is the parent company of Ramunia Fabricators Sdn Bhd (“RFSB”). RFSB is the main operating company for the Group was incorporated on 17 January 2001.

The company was awarded its first fabrication contract by Petronas Carigali for Kinarut KINDP-A Platform and EWAC Module in the year 2002. Subsequently TH Heavy (previously known as Ramunia) was listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2005 and from there on Ramunia Fabricators has secured contracts from Petronas Carigali, Shell, Talisman, Murphy, Exxon Mobil, Woodside and more. TH Fabricators have executed more than 16 modules & topside structures and 15 substructures fabrications.

 

Moving forward, TH Heavy have moved its operations to a new fabrication yard at Pulau Indah, Selangor.

Review of performance 30 June 2012

The Group recorded revenue of RM29.4 million bringing the revenue for the six months ended 30 June 2012 to RM70.1 million. The profit after tax for the second quarter was RM6.0 million bringing the year to date profit after tax to RM13.8 million.

Due to the change in the financial year end as stated in Note 16, there are no comparative figures for the current quarter ended 30 June 2012 against preceding year’s corresponding quarter. The quarterly results ended 30 April 2011 have been attached for illustration purpose only.

Comparatives Results with the Preceding Quarter

The results in the first quarter included the recognition of revenue of RM30.0 million from the Small Renewable Energy Power Plant Project which had been previously fully written off in Financial Year 2010.

Review of performance 31 March 2012

The Group recorded a turnover of RM40.7 million for the quarter. The increase in turnover is attributed significantly to the recognition of revenue of the Small Renewable Energy Power Plant Project. The costs of this Project have been previously fully written off in Financial Year 2010. Due to the change in the financial year end as stated in Note 15, there are no comparative figures for the current quarter ended 31 March 2012 against preceding year’s corresponding quarter. The quarterly results ended 31 January 2011 have been attached for illustration purpose only.
